This is a story of a daughter who was torn from her father’s home by hunters and taken into a forest to be used as bait for a most elusive prize – a unicorn. Only the innocent, such as Bette, have the powerful appeal required to overcome the otherwise highly intelligent creature and lure it in to the hunters’ waiting crosshairs. But the hunt does not go according to plan. Will Bette make it out of the forest alive? Or will she suffer the same fate as her kidnappers?
Overall, Only the Innocent was a quick, interesting, and enjoyable read that left me thinking after reading the last page. I’ll definitely check out some more of Katrina Joyner’s works!
